About Hip Hop

Hip Hop dance refers to various dance styles, including street dance styles, primarily danced to Hip Hop music, which has evolved as a part of the Hip Hop culture beginning in the 1980s. The so-called “Old School” Hip Hop dances refer to the Hip Hop dance styles that evolved in the 1970s and 1980s, and were primarily danced to funk and old school Hip Hop music. In the 1990s, as Hip Hop music took new forms, new dance styles also began appearing making up what’s generally referred to as “New School or New Style” Hip Hop dance.

Hip Hop—Beginner

This Hip Hop class is open to all adult students without any prior dance experience. It provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance moves in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time.

This class is an Open-Session, which means students can enroll in this session at the shown costs or simply drop-in one class at a time for a cost of $20 without enrolling.

Hip Hop—Juniors (ages 6-10)

This Hip Hop class is open to Juniors ages 6-10. It provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance moves in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time. This class does not require prior dance experience

This class is an Open-Session, which means students can enroll in this session at the shown costs or simply drop-in one class at a time for a cost of $20 without enrolling.

Hip Hop—Teens (ages 11-15)

This Hip Hop class is open to all teens ages 11-15 without any prior dance experience. It provides a structured method of learning various Hip Hop dance moves in a fun-filled and vibrant class environment, and offers a new set of combinations and routines every time.

This class is an Open-Session, which means students can enroll in this session at the shown costs or simply drop-in one class at a time for a cost of $20 without enrolling.

SALSA

Salsa—Beginner

In this beginner-level class, students will gain a solid mastery of basic Salsa moves (Back Moves, Forward Moves, Turns, etc,) and will progress towards more advanced turns and combinations. A dance partner is not required for this class.

This class is an Enrollment-Session, which means students must enroll in the entire session, within the first three weeks of the session. Drop-ins past the first three weeks are not permitted in order to allow enrolled students to enjoy the class without interruptions.

Salsa—Advanced Beginner

This Salsa class is a Beginner-II level and is most suitable for students with prior Beginner-I class experience or a good knowledge of Salsa dancing. Students will progress into more advanced turns and combinations, building on the core foundation from the Beginner-I class. A dance partner is not required for this class

Break Dance

About Break Dance

Break Dance, also known as breakdancing, b-boying or b-girling, is a street dance style that evolved as part of the hip hop movement among youths in the South Bronx of New York City during the early 1970s. It is normally danced to funk or hip hop music, often remixed to prolong the breaks.

This class covers core Break Dance moves, such as toprock, downrock, power moves and freeze.

No prior dance experience needed.

This class is an Open-Session, which means students can enroll in this session at the shown costs or simply drop-in one class at a time for a cost of $20 without enrolling.

    The classes for bboys are starting for the fall Sept.18th Saturday… and every Saturday from there on.. 5pm
